Builds a combined pupil series under a declared policy while retaining a per-row source label. This function replaces opaque rowMeans(..., na.rm = TRUE) decisions with explicit provenance.

Arguments

data

Raw data or output from reconstruct_gazepoint_binocular_pupil().

left_col, right_col

Original pupil column names.

policy

One of "complete_case", "available_eye", "reconstructed_mean", "left_only", or "right_only".

prefix

Reconstruction prefix used by reconstructed_mean.

output_col

Name of the constructed pupil column.

status_col

Name of the provenance column.

valid_min, valid_max

Optional bounds when working directly from raw channels.

overwrite

Whether existing output columns may be replaced.

Value

data with output_col and status_col appended.
